The Registration period for Contemporary Athens Prize runs from 1/05/2021 to 30/09/2021.

In Contemporary Athens Prize, we will accept 2-D and 3-D artworks.

2-D Artworks. Painting, drawing, photography, printmaking are examples of 2-D work.

3-D Artworks that occupy space and are intended to be viewed from multiple angles. Sculptures are examples of 3-D Artworks.

Each artist can submit only one artwork.

From 01.05.2021 to 30.09.2021 is the artists registration period.

09.2022 Contemporary Athens Prize ceremony
Registration is free of charge.
Every artist can submit their artwork for free.
Contemporary Athens in collaboration with collectors and art critics will review every application and will nominate 25 artists for the shortlist.
The shortlisted artists must sign a hosting agreement in order to participate in the exhibition.
The Hosting Agreement is a contract that must be signed between artists and Contemporary Athens before the participation can be finalised. It covers installation details, insurance, shipping, and other important details. Both parties will review and then sign the agreement.
The 25 shortlisted artists will exhibit their artworks in a public exhibition space in Athens.
The exhibition date is 20-22.05.2022
25 artworks by 25 Athens based artists will be on view.
The prize is 3000€ and a solo exhibition in Contemporary Athens Gallery.
The prize is awarded by public vote during the exhibition days.
This is how Public vote works in order to secure the liability of the process.

Candidates to win the prize are the shortlisted artists who participate in the exhibition.

Only visitors of the exhibition have the right to vote.

At the entrance visitors will receive informations on how to vote.

Every visitor can vote only once ( his favourite artwork )

The artwork with the most votes will win the prize

20.06.2022 the winner of the prize will be announced.

The winner will receive by Contemporary Athens the 3,000.00 € award on September 2022 in a special event (information to be announced).

The winner in collaboration with Contemporary Athens has the opportunity for a solo exhibition in Contemporary Athens Gallery , Leventi 1 str. , Kolonaki sq.
The following is a summary of the official rules for the artists.

Each Artist must be at least 18 years old at the time they register.
-
Artwork may be a single piece or a collection of pieces. In any case, an Artwork is titled and voted on as a single piece.

Only original Artwork is eligible for submission. The Artist is responsible to ensure that the Artwork does not infringe on any third party’s proprietary rights.

The Artwork must be currently owned by the Artist.

Shortlisted Artists must sign a Hosting Agreement with Contemporary Athens in order to participate in the exhibition.

The exhibition space for each artwork will be selected by Contemporary Athens.

Contemporary Athens reserves the right to change the number of the shortlisted artists.

Contemporary Athens reserves the right to postpone the Contemporary Athens Prize if circumstances require it.
